May All Your Christmases Be White

Good Morning everyone. Jo here, sharing a holiday card using Penny Black Christmas with Mimi. The image is colored with Copic Markers and accented with Wink of Stella in Clear. I then fussy cut the image out and centered it on my card.

The background is created by blending three Distress Inks - Chipped SapphireStormy Sky and Weathered Wood. To create the crisp edge, I used washi tape as a mask. You can watch a mini tutorial over at my YouTube Channel - Paperdrama.

The sentiment "May All Your Christmases Be White" is from Mama Elephant Merry Greetings. It's embossed with white embossing powder, as well as the stars. I used a white gel pen to create the mini snow clusters on the card. I also doodled straight lines around the edge of the completed scene.

I hope this card puts you in the mood to start creating your holiday cards. Stay tune for more cards created using the Penny Black set.

Don't forget to join the current "Anything Goes" Challenge over at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog! Have a fabulous weekend!

Altered Paper Bag Handles

Hi everyone, I thought I'd share this mini tutorial of how I altered these bag handles from this grocery paper bag. I needed a huge gift bag and decided to upcycle this paper grocery bag from Target.

First I cut of the old handles and set them aside. To make the bag cuter, I cut out a scallop design on the top. I then added the designer paper on both sides. I used the old handles as a template and created my own with designer paper to match.

It turned out so cute and it just gave the bag more detail.

You can watch my Start-To-Finish video at my YouTube Channel HERE.

You can add handles to any size bag you want. Here, I added handles to these paper lunch bags.

Hope you enjoyed my little share with you. Enjoy the rest of your week!

FFF - Easel Card

(*Click HERE for the IAR "Spring has Sprung" Blog Hop)

Hello Friday, it's about time! LOL. It's Farm Fresh Friday over at The Greeting Farm BlogToday I'm hosting and the challenge is to create an easel card.

Easel Card Tutorial: here or you can follow this picture:

Pretty easy huh? The image I used is Anya Blooms. The sentiment inside the card is also from the stamp set. I love pairing her up with my I Am Roses Daisies, they make a perfect pair together.

She is colored with my Copic markers, video here. I am addicted to paper piecing her dress all the time. I did the exact same thing on the previous card that I made using her. It's not cheating...is it? NAH =)

I embellished the card with lace and pearls. The paper collection I used is K&Company Julianne. Please give this card a try and enter it for this challenge over at the TGF Blog. Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful weekend! GOOD LUCK!

IAR "Spring has Sprung" Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to the I Am Roses "Spring has Sprung" Blog Hop. For more details on how to win, visit the I Am Roses Challenge Blog. If you are going in order you should be coming from DT Member Ivett's Blog. I made these cute mini Easter treat baskets. The DT challenge theme was Easter and we had to use Leaves & the color Green. So I ended up using GREEN LEAVES.

These little treat baskets were very inexpensive to make. They are actually paper cups from the dollar bin at my local Target store. I used the green leaves to trim the top of the cup and added a strip of cardstock for the handle to make the basket.

I made a quick mini tutorial on how I assembled these treat baskets here.

Next DT Member up is Joy Nieva. Don't forget to leave a comment on my blog and GOOD LUCK!!!

December IARCC "All Wrapped Up"

Hello! Happy Monday and December! November just flew on by. It's time for another I Am Roses Color Challege. You can find all the details over at the IAR Challenge Blog. This month's theme is Christmas Gift Wrap. As you can see I made gift bags using brown paper lunch bags. I have tons of these in my craft room, back when I used to make paper albums. These are really cheap and affordable at any grocery store.

I simply embossed the bags with my embossing folders from Cuttlebug. The monogram tag is made from burlap trip. I had several colors and decide to use the red & green ones that were cut into little fish tail banners. The I Am Roses flowers that I used are listed below. I wanted to make them look like holly, so I grouped the three red roses together and laid them on top of some green daisy leaves. I also added some white mini rose buds.

These tags were really easy to make and I made several for gifts. I also put them on this small embossed glassine bag for smaller presents. All the tags were attached to the bags with jute rope and I threaded a jingle bells ball with it. It makes a really festive noise when you move the gift =)

I made a start to finish video on how I made the tags and also how I embossed the lunch bags. You can view the video here.

As always thank you for taking the time to look at my creations. I hope you are able to use my idea this holiday season. GOOD LUCK to those who want to enter the December IARCC.

Copic Video: Miss Anya Garland #1

Happy Wednesday! Yes I know you've seen this card before, I blogged about this card already (post here) announcing my January Guest Designer Spot for The Greeting Farm. Well it's been a while since I did a Copic video of me coloring images. So I decided to do one for this particular image (Miss Anya Garland).

Now I am not a Certified Copic Instructor, this being said, I just like to show my way of coloring with these Copic markers. I keep it pretty simple and not too fancy =)

I hope to do more Copic videos of my upcoming TGF projects. So please go to my YouTube Channel Paperdrama and SUBSCRIBE, I might not always have time to do a blog post but you can be kept up to date on my videos there. Hope you enjoyed!

Shabby Tussie Mussie

This was a 2011 Christmas project that I created and just now posting, better late than never. It's an altered cone or tussie mussie. It's actually great for any occasion. This was so much fun to create and embellish. I just love the trims that were used from KARLAS001 Etsy store.

I intertwined some green leaf trim with the ruffled Delicate Cream Trim. Several laces were layered on top of each other. The 4mm Mini White Flat Back Pearl Trim was wrapped around the top of the cone for added detail.

This flower was created using single rosettes taken from a trim. I go in detail about the project and also I do a quick flower tutorial at the tail end of the video.

I hope everyone had a fabulous Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by!

Mini Hanging Canvas Sign

Yay it's Friday! I hope everyone had a great week and are ready for the weekend. Today's I Am Roses project is a mini hanging canvas sign.

The papers that I used are from MME Stella Rose Gertie. The black chipboard in the back was from a Basic Grey black chipboard album. Attached at the top is a mini clothespin that can hold a note or a picture. I was going through my flowers and I decided to create my own using the flat petal flowers.

I made these awesome carnation flowers in two sizes, a medium and a small. The "Carnation Flower Tutorial" can be viewed here. I threw in some .25" Paper Roses and .50" White Paper Roses into the mix as well.

The image I used is from The Greeting Farm, Simply Anya. I colored her with my Copic markers and as well as paper pieced her outfit. I laid her on top of some green burlap trim. For a more detail and up close view of the sign, you can watch my video here. I had a lot of fun making this non-christmas project LOL. I hope you liked it.

As always, please make sure to visit I Am Roses on YouTube and check out our IAR Challenge Blog, where we have challenges, contests, and lots of projects from our Designers. Thanks for stopping by!

Merriest Wishes

Hi everyone Happy Thursday evening or Friday! I created this I Am Roses holiday gift box to share with you guys. It was really simple to make using designer paper. You can watch the tutorial here. All the edges were inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The sentiment "Merriest Wishes" is from a Hero Arts stamp set. I framed it with the Classic Ovals Small and Labels Four dies from Spellbinders. I then used dimensional pop dots to raise it up and it allows the seam binding to run through the back. Some 1/4" Red & Brown Mini Paper Roses and 1/2" White Paper Roses accent the corners.

I am in love with this new flower to the I Am Roses Site, Big Red Gardenia. I used it as the centerpiece in the floral arrangement on the lid. One word, gorgeous! I first placed some brown seam binding and then laid some Skeleton Leaves as the base. I randomly placed White Cherry Blossoms, 1" White Paper Roses, Brown Paper Roses and some Mini Red Paper Roses all around the base of the red gardenia.

The box is filled with yummy goodies for my friend for a holiday crop party. I can't wait for her to see it =).

I hope you've enjoyed my gift box and tutorial video. Have a fabulous Friday and weekend!

LSG "Under the Sea" Contest & Easel Card

Inside:
Happy weekend everyone! Lindy's Stamp Gang is hosting a YouTube contest. The rules will be listed at the end of this post. First I wanted to share this easel card that I created to help get you going with the theme "Under the Sea". I fell in love with The Greeting Farm Syren stamp. I thought she would be perfect to grace the front of my card. The image was colored in with my Copic markers (E00, E11, B0000, B14, BG05, V09, V12, V15, C1, 100). I matted a piece of designer paper with brown cardstock for the greeting/message to be written on. The Lindy's Stamp Gang products I used on this card were the Magicals & Micas. These are perfect for coloring images or giving that extra sparkle and shimmer. The Magicals are vibrant in color and have a paint like quality to them. The powders already have a built in fixative so there is no need to add any, use dry or wet with a waterbrush.
On the image I used the mica in Indian Summer Turquoise and the Magicals in Hydrangea Blue on her fin, as well as her eyeshadow on her lids. I then added little dots of the Magicals to her tail. Lots of pearls and rhinestones were added to mimic gems. I put a cluster on her hair as if it was a hair broach and also some on her fin.
All the papers that were used were lightly inked with Distress Ink Antique Linen for that aged look. The scroll was cut from the QuicKutz Parchment Scroll die. The sentiment on the scroll came from a Tim Holtz Boundless Flight stamp set. You can watch a video tutorial on how I achieved that shimmery look using the Magicals and a VersaMark stamp pad here.
All the flowers on the card were white to begin with and then I painted them using the Magicals in Hydrangea Blue and Witch's Potion Purple. The branches w/leaves were colored with the Magicals in Freaky Franken Lime to mimic seaweed at the bottom of the ocean. The original color of that cardstock was a light kraft beige. The die that I used to cut those branches is the Sizzix Sizzlit Branches w/Leaves die. I added some trim to the bottom of the card as well as the inside. I also laid some burlap in the background for "netting".

I hope that those who have a YouTube account will come and participate in our contest. There will be prizes and lots of amazing projects. Even if you do not participate I invite you guys to still come to the Lindy's Stamp Gang channel to view all the wonderful submissions. Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Rosette Embellishment

Here is another handmade embellishment for my mini love page swap. I created this using my paper rosette technique, seen here.

I love how this turned out. For the center I used this bead panel that I purchased from Michael's, from The Bead Gallery. It adds a bit of glam to the rosette. Thanks for passing by and I will have pictures of the actual finished 4x4 mini page, plus 2 tutorials showing how I created the front and back side of the page.
