May IAR Challenge

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Here's my project for the new challenge at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog

Here is an altered canvas notebook that I covered with I Am Roses flowers. The notebook is pre-made and I layered multiple flowers on the cover.

My inspiration for the colors were drawn from the little egg nest embellishment. I wanted to use aqua/teal and white tones. The flowers are adhered to the canvas with hot glue.

IAR "New Beginnings" Blog Hop

Welcome everyone to the I Am Roses "New Beginnings" Blog Hop! Hope you are all enjoying the creations the Design Team has crafted for this Blog Hop. There are three prizes up for grabs.

Here is my project for you today.

This is a wooden slice ornament that I altered with I Am Roses Flowers and other embellishments. All flowers used will be listed below.

I used a snowman paper die cut as the centerpiece and pulled the color palette from there. A variety of flowers in different sizes adorn this ornament. I added a cute flair button and a mini gold star, along with a silver leaf branch to the left of the snowman.

Thank you for stopping by. Here is the list of the Blog Hop Line-up:

IAR Easter Bunny Wreath

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing an Easter bunny wreath that I created using I Am Roses flowers. I really love how this turned out. I love using the gardenia petals as a filler when covering up an item. I had this empty bunny wood wreath and covered the whole thing with the petals.

Peeking through the bunny ears is a soft pink rosette trim. The bow is a fabric strip that I had from years ago.

The focal flowers on the wreath are large gardenia flowers that measure approximately 4". Flanking those flowers, I used a soft pink short spray and added some fern leaves.

For a closer look of the wreath, I created a video over on my YouTube Channel: Paperdrama

February IAR Challenge

Happy Thursday! It's been a while since I posted on my blog. I've been on a "mommy hiatus" for the past two years, enjoying my little boy. I'm excited to start crafting again! Today a new challenge is up at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog
Here is a keepsake box that I created. As a mommy busy trying to raise a little human being, sometimes you don't have time to scrapbook all the pictures you take. So I decided to create this little keepsake photo box. I will print out one picture of every month for the first year of his life and put it in here. It's small and won't take up too much time to complete.
I used mainly cream and white flowers, with a pop of red. The paper I used is Webster's Pages Lullaby Lane and I distressed the edges. The photo is the ultrasound picture that I used to announce my pregnancy. The frame I used is from Tattered Angels. The photo box is finished off with some lace, a clock wood veneer and a little word piece.

Do Not Disturb

Happy Friday! Today a new challenge is up at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog. "Anything Goes" is the theme. I altered this black chalkboard door hanger for a co-worker of mine, she loves the color yellow.

I incorporated different yellow hued roses/flowers from I Am Roses (all links listed below). With a white gel pen, I drew a thin line border to give a bit more definition. I handwrote "Do Not Disturb", but of it is eraseable and she can write whatever her mood =) Really easy project and makes a beautiful gift.

Vintage Shabby Notebook

Hello! I'm sharing my project that I created for the I Am Roses Designer Challenge for July. I've had this notebook hybernating in my stash and I decided to pull it out and give it a facelift.

I went for a Vintage Shabby look. There are a plethera of flowers: Lilies, Gardenias, Roses, Mini Roses, Floral Sprays and Leaves.

The paper I used is from Prima the Divine Collection. I layered a sheet of vellum that I embossed the edges with white embossing powder and used a decorative scissor to cut along the border. Also from Prima, is a wooden veneer embellishment with a checkboard pattern. Lastly, I added a tiny cute floral trim, some pearls and a doily.

I think you can see a major difference from the before and after. All the flowers I used are listed below with links.

GOOD LUCK!

June IAR Challenge - Altered Magnetic Board Frame

Hello everyone! It's June! Summertime here we come! For this month's I Am Roses Challenge, you are to Alter a FRAME or include one in your project. I wanted to put up this picture of my scrappy friends that took place at my apartment when I first moved in. I had this magnetic board frame in my stash a while now, given to me by my friend Amy. It was time to take it out for this challenge, here is a picture of the original, it also came with magnets.

Before

I first covered the metal sheet with a layer of dictionary paper and some Tim Holtz Tissue paper over that with mod podge. I painted the wood with white acrylic paint then I started the flower layering process. Honestly, this is the most flowers I've used on a project, but it was so worth it!

Here is a close up of the 3 flowers I used and how I layered them together.

R5-15 White Roses
T1-118 Hot Pink Mini Rose Buds
R2-518 Mini Variegated Soft Pink Rose Flowers

Here is a corner of the frame in which I included this cute bicycle die cut from My Creative Time. Above the bike, you can see that I glued larger roses on top of the magnets that this came with. I also had the perfect size flat back pearls for the other magnets. The picture is not permanently adhered to the board, I can change out the picture whenever I want just by removing the magnets on the frame die cut.

R6-595 1" Mixed Pastel
R3-595 3/4" Mixed Pastel

I loved how this turned out. Please don't mind the heart above my friend's face, it's for privacy reasons =). Thank you for taking the time to view my project. You can watch my video here for a closer look. Come join this fun challenge over at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog.

GOOD LUCK!
