Happy Double-Take Tuesday over at The Greeting Farm Blog!

 It's a sketch today.

Here's my card using the NEW Limited Edition Alice Bean.

Cuteness! I went for the classic Alice in Wonderland outfit  I had to double check what color her bow was. I first colored it blue but then I Googled an image and it was black lol. So i just colored the bow black separately and paper pieced it over the blue bow. That works for me!

I stamped the vellum paper with clock images and embossed it in white embossing powder. The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz stamp set. I included an image of a tea cup and tied a black satin ribbon at the top to mimic Alice's bow.

Oh and I added Stickles to her apron. Pretty simple card. Easy sketch, come and play and enter to win this fab stamp over at the TGF Blog.

IAR "Journal Me This" April Challenge

Hi it's me again with another Monday post for you. This time it is for the 

 I Am Roses APRIL Blog Challenge.  Head on over to the IAR Challenge Blog to get all the details on how you can enter to win some fabulous IAR flowers. Also we have a new addition to the IAR Design Team, Welcome Donna Smith!

So the title is "Journal Me This" and the challenge is to use flat flowers/petals. You can interpret this any way you want. Some of the DT gals made layouts and some made Journals. This is truly the first time that I made any real effort in Mix Media, so I made this journal cover. I am happy with the way it turned out. I've watched so many inspiring YouTube videos on Mix Media and thought "why the heck not, I'll give it a go"...even though I hate getting messy LOL.

Anywhoo...so here is the before of my cover. It's a page that I already started when I first played with my Gelli Arts Plate (Video here).

Ta da! Hehehe. This thing took me the whole afternoon to complete. I really didn't know what look I was going for, dark or light...and dark it is! 

The page was already painted and had some designs from previous stencils. So I started out with some stamping in the background. Then began pulling out embellishments from my stash, laid them out on the page.  Some of the embellishments didn't go with the color scheme so I had to prep them with black acrylic paint, then I coated them with my sprays. While they were still wet, I sprinkled a metallic embossing powder then I set with my heat gun.

I chose four colors of  Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and sprayed like there was no tomorrow. It was fun seeing how the colors mixed with each other and it pulled everything together. The edge of the cover was inked first with Black Soot Distress Ink then I took some black acrylic paint and went over the edges with  a foam brush.

I used the I Am Roses Small Daisy Petal Flowers and the Mini Hydrangea Flowers. I layered two together and added a clear rhinestone flower center, that I covered with black paint and the metallic embossing powder, topped with a small black rhinestone. I used hot glue for the paper flowers and glossy accents to adhere the metal elements to my page.

I added some Fusible Webbing mixed with some embossing powder to create another type of texture to my cover. Fusible Webbing is this type of dryer sheet-like material that when you apply a heat gun to it, it starts to melt and shrink to give this type of spidery texture/look on your project. If  you look at the bottom left corner and the right side of the oval frame, you can see where I applied it.

Another thing that I enjoyed doing on this project was using a texture paste (tutorial here) over a stencil to add even more dimension. I mixed some black acrylic paint to the mix because it was initially white. Then I used Tibetan Poppy Magical Mica from Lindy's Stamp Gang over it for some shimmery goodness.

I can't tell you how much fun I had playing with everything. This challenge really had me step outside of my comfort zone. I'm a pretty neat person, i think, and to get my hands messy and just try different techniques was a blast. So...I hope you guys can play along this IAR Challenge. You don't have to get all mix media'd out. You can create whatever you want and it just depends on how you interpret our title "Journal Me This".

It's APRIL in WONDERLAND at TGF

Hi guys, guess what today is??? April Fools Day! Well it is but this is no joke. We are excited to bring you the APRIL release, beginning with our LIMITED EDITION "Wonderland Beans" as well as our Delicate Words which will be available ongoing in the TGF STORE. 

We've had a few questions about this Limited Edition release. Rest assured we will re-stock as we need to during the month of April, but after that, they will be gone, so get them while the portal to Wonderland remains open! ;)

We also have some big news as far as releases go. As you may have read, TGF is thrilled to announce that starting NOW we are going back to MONTHLY releases (woot woot)...so there will be a lot of additional excitement here on the Farm!

Here is my card featuring Hatter Bean:

I embossed the card base and the vellum doily with a floral & dotted embossing folder. I kept everything white except for the ribbon and the image. She is colored with Copic markers. 

I love love her hat. I Stickled the crap out of it and some on her dress as well...hehehe. To add some dimension, glossy accents were used on the flowers and the hearts.

Ok, who wouldn't want to get their grubby little hands on her and the ENTIRE collection?!

Happy Easter Weekend!

I wanted to post this card before Sunday. I used Blush Beatrice from The Greeting Farm. Dressed up in her best Easter outfit, she is both paper pieced and colored with Copic markers.

I created a floral spray using I Am Roses flowers. I used a part of a ready made spray, added a maple leaf, a rose pink colored flower and some foam head stamens. I used some pink/green paper scraps for the card. Spun Sugar Distress Ink was the perfect match for the soft pink I was going for.

TGF - April Preview "Cheshire Bean"

Good Morning! I am so excited to share with you one of the New TGF April Releases (Available April 1st). Here she is, Cheshire Bean. I am on a daisy flower kick and I had to use them again in this card. There were daisies on the DP so I HAD to and I also paired them up with some tiny pink roses. The image is colored with my Copic markers and I incorporated some leaf branches and vellum onto the card. To add some glitter, I used Stickles in Fruit Punch to her ears and dress. If you look closely, you can see the sparkle in her eyes are stars! Adorable!

She is Cheshire Bean obviously it's a Alice in Wonderland theme, so I pulled this image from the internet as inspiration for my next card.

This is what I came up with. Totally a complete opposite from my previous card, it's like Day & Night. The background is a mixture of blue/turquoise/black acrylic paint that I laid on the card with my Gelli Plate (video of my first try with this gadget here). 

I then sprayed the background with my Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays in Midnight Rendezvous Raven and Royal Peacock Fire for some sparkly shimmer. The stamped some forest-like images in black and outlined it with my white gel pen. I doodled some stars in the sky. I really like how this turned out. Cheshire Bean is colored with my Copic markers.

So there are my cards using Cheshire Bean. These are going to sell out fast, I just know it! This whole new release is so freakin' amazing! Don't forget to go to the TGF blog to enter to win her.

FFF - Easel Card

Hello Friday, it's about time! LOL. It's Farm Fresh Friday over at The Greeting Farm Blog. Today I'm hosting and the challenge is to create an easel card.

Pretty easy huh? The image I used is Anya Blooms. The sentiment inside the card is also from the stamp set. I love pairing her up with my I Am Roses Daisies, they make a perfect pair together.

She is colored with my Copic markers, video here. I am addicted to paper piecing her dress all the time. I did the exact same thing on the previous card that I made using her. It's not cheating...is it? NAH =)

IAR "Spring has Sprung" Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to the I Am Roses "Spring has Sprung" Blog Hop. For more details on how to win, visit the I Am Roses Challenge Blog. If you are going in order you should be coming from DT Member Ivett's Blog. I made these cute mini Easter treat baskets. The DT challenge theme was Easter and we had to use Leaves & the color Green. So I ended up using GREEN LEAVES.

These little treat baskets were very inexpensive to make. They are actually paper cups from the dollar bin at my local Target store. I used the green leaves to trim the top of the cup and added a strip of cardstock for the handle to make the basket.

I made a quick mini tutorial on how I assembled these treat baskets here.
