Make a Splash

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm back with Part 2 of Under the Sea Mae from Some Odd Girl Stamps. This is the second mermaid image and sentiment from the stamp set. I decided to go with the same layout/look as the first card (blog post here). I added a second image of a clam shell, from Make it Crafty, perfect!

I used the red & pinks in the Martha Stewart set to create the glitter ombre effect, all adhered with Glossy Accents. I used a shell image from the SOG set and fussy cut it out and placed it on her hair with pearls. I used various sized flat back pearls on this card, I especially love the largest pearl.

All the images are colored with my Copics. As always this was a joy to create, coloring is so relaxing. This is the fisrt time I used the pink/green combo and I love it! She kinda reminds me of The Little Mermaid Ariel, maybe I should color her tail blue next time =)

Thanks for taking the time to look at my creation. All supplies/colors listed below.

A Mother's Love and When & Where

Happy Wednesday everyone! Here are my projects using the Avocado Arts NEW April Release:

I decided to go real simple with my cards. First one up is using When & Where:

I knew from the start that I wanted to make some kind of border with the arrow. I did two rows and placed a strip of gold striped washi tape. Instead of using black ink, I used navy and colored random arrows with my Copics. I layered some heart acetate die cuts to soften up the look of the card.

Card two features both sets, A Mother's Love and When & Where:

Again I went with a navy ink color, as well as the cardstock used to mat the image. I just love the flowers in this set, along with the words imbedded in the stems. I created a shadow by using a different hue of blue and stamped the same image off to the side for the effect. I wanted to mimic some of the "petals" flowing in the wind, so I used the small heart in the Avocado Type stamp set. The chevron border is from the When & Where set. It doesn't quite fit across the A2 card but it stamps seamlessly when stamped side by side. For the final detail, I used silver flat back pearls in sizes small & large.

Last card, using A Mother's Love:

I love this sentiment! I pulled out all my white toned buttons and started gluing them down. Navy ink used again and I added some faux stitching around the card. Of course how could you not place a teeny tiny button on the "o" in buttons =)

Those are my cards, thank you so much for taking the time to take a look. I hope you enjoy these sets as much as I do.

See you soon!
Jo

April IAR Challenge

Hey it's me again =) Here is my card for the I Am Roses April Challenge. The theme is Easter and the challenge is to incorporate an Egg or Egg Shape. I decided to cut an oval shape for the egg and then I used Small Gardenia Curly Petals to fill in the shape. The petals came in different shades of yellow and also white. I love how full and fluffy it is.

The bunny was cut from a die at a scrapbook store and I then embossed it with Swiss Dots from Cuttlebug. The bunny is layered over pink vellum paper that I trimmed with decorative pinking scissors for added detail.

I tied two sets of seam binding for the bows. The center sits a 3/4" White & Pink Rose. The paper is from Prima London Market and I finished the card with flat back pearls on all corners.

This challenge was fun, I hope you participate over at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog. Also I would like to give a warm WELCOME to Designer Sharon Martinelli. She is one talented lady and joins our IAR Design Team.

One last thing, there are NEW Badges over at the IAR Blog, make sure you check them out!

Thanks for passing by, have a beautiful Tuesday!
