A Sweet 6x6 Layout

Hi everyone, I hope that you guys have recuperated from our awesome Stamper's Dream & Friends Blog Hop! I wanted to share this cute 6x6 layout of my hubby & I. I have an empty 6x6 scrapbook album and I thought I should get started on my layouts. So this is one of my many 6x6 pages to come. The papers I used were from Pink Paislee Hometown Summer. The Hometown Summer Border Stickers are the perfect companions to this collection. I used a border pennant sticker from the pack and adhered some pop-dots to give it dimension. On either ends I placed some Kaiser Craft Pearls.

The photo is matted by one of the designer papers. I tried to make it look like a Polaroid picture. I added some lace trim on the side. At the bottom of the matted picture is a cut piece from one of the many border stickers included in the sticker pack.
The images of the boy & girl were cut from one of the designer papers from the pack. I attached them to a piece of a banner flag border sticker and wrapped it around a stick pin. The mini crochet flower embellishment is from my stash. I couldn't keep away from my new favorite, the Ivory Burlap String from May Arts. It seems to find a place on every project that I create =)

The sentiment "You Have a Smile as Sweet as Spring" is from MFT Out on a Limb. I've used this stamp set on a previous card here. So that is my layout and I'm totally motivated to keep on creating 6x6 pages to fill up my album. Sometimes all you need is just one great paper pack and a set of stickers/embellishments from the same collection to give a project a finished look. Okay, so have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping by! 'Til next time!

Stamper's Dream & Friends Blog Hop

Happy Monday everyone! Welcome to the Stamper's Dream & Friends Blog Hop! If you are just joining in, I am actually the final stop. Make sure you refer to the blog list below so you can start from the beginning.

Now on to my project. I decorated this plain Martha Stewart gift box that I had purchased last year. The beautiful papers are from the Melissa Frances 5th Avenue collection. The JustRite stamp set is the new June release Merry & Bright. The inks used were Pink Petunia and Pixie Dust from VersaMagic. All the designer papers were distressed with Antique Linen. I ruffled and glued some crepe paper behind the sentiment. I then used Glossy Accents to adhere the glitter around the edges of the ruffles. The shape behind the ornament and the piece of paper folded at the top flap was cut with Spellbinders Labels Thirteen. I used an eyelet border punch and wrapped the strips of DP at the top and bottom of the box. My favorite pearls from Kaiser Craft were used as accents all over. I tied some white seam binding into a bow and adhered it at the top. Also I used an Ivory Burlap String from May Arts along with a mini flower from my stash. These would make cute favors at a Christmas party.

I hope you have enjoyed my project. There is a hidden blog candy up for grabs. Make sure you visit each and every one of these talented ladies and leave them some love on their blog post for a chance to win.

My Spellbinders Book

I'm so excited to share this project with you guys. I was inspired by my fellow I Am Roses Design Team members, Arlene & Rina, to make a storage book for my Spellbinders dies. This book measures about 8 1/2" x 11", binded with 2 metal rings. I am slowly building my collection and I needed some kind of storage system. This is what I made. I didn't embellish anywhere else but the front cover. I had just received my I Am Roses haul and I had to use the flowers immediately. The 2" White Flower was misted with my Glitz Spritz Desert Moon Cactus Gold for that beautiful gold shimmer. I put two Pink Toned flowers on each side. Scattered throughout the cover were these sweet White Pink 2 Toned flowers. I curled the stems of these flowers with the end of my skinny paint brush. All these flowers were sitting on top of my favorite leaves, Small Natural Skeleton Leaves and Small Green Leaves. The natural skeleton leaves were stained with my Starburst Dark Chocolate Truffle from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

For a more shabby effect, I painted the edges of the cover with white acrylic paint. My favorite element on the cover is the old dictionary sheet in the background. I specifically chose that page due to the fact that it had the words craft, create, and crinkle printed on it. I could not finish this book without adding some pearl bling flourishes and a chandelier charm.

So this is my project for I Am Roses. I hope that you've enjoyed it. For a more detailed look at the book and the inside, please watch the video here. Thanks for stopping by as always!

Love

Happy Thursday! I have a Stamper's Dream card share project for you all today. My paper of choice was Graphic 45 Curtain Call. This collection has been out for some time, but it's never too late to fall in "Love" with these papers. There were so many beautiful images to choose from. All the edges of the papers were inked with Distress Ink Black Soot. I added some black rhinestone flourishes from my stash. The flower up top was made from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. I just love making my own embellishments using the same designer paper used for the card. It just makes it so much easier to coordinate. The pearl center was created with individual Kaiser Craft pearls that I clustered together. Also I used the pearls throughout the card as accents.

The "Love" sentiment is from the Unity Stamp Co. for Webster's Pages - Love stamp set. It fit perfectly in the tag from Spellbinder's Floral Doily Accents. These accent shapes are perfect for layering.

So that is my card for today, I hope that it has inspired you to get this paper collection if you haven't already. Thanks for stopping by and please join me next week for another Stamper's Dream creation =)

Stamper's Dream Team & Friends Stick Together Card

StampersDream

Hi everyone! I'm happy to announce that I have been asked to join the amazing Dream Team for Stamper's Dream. The Dream Team consists of such talented ladies and I'm honored to be in their company. Make sure to visit all the gals (links on the side bar) if you haven't already. Thank you Michelle for this fabulous opportunity!

Okay let's get started on my first official SD project! I created this card using the stamps from Out on a Limb by My Favorite Things. All the images and the "Friends Stick Together" sentiment came from that set. The designer papers used on this card, as well as the little girl's paper pieced dress, are from My Mind's Eye Happy Go Lucky paper pad. The card base is kraft cardstock and the designer papers were all matted with brown cardstock. I stamped the images using Memento ink in Tuxedo Black on Neenah paper, then colored them in with my Copics. The "Friends Stick Together" sentiment was stamped with Memento ink in Rich Cocoa.

I used the SpellBinders Labels Four to cut out my little forest vignette. I then popped it up with dimensional foam dots. Her little shoes, the heart on her dress and in her hair were covered with Glossy Accents. I wrapped some May Arts Ivory Burlap String and tied a bow around one of the panels. Three brown brads adorn the top right corner to finish the card.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed today's card. I'm excited to bring you more projects in the weeks to come. So please come and join me in this new adventure with Stamper's Dream!

Cheeky Nurse - Thinking of You

Happy hump day! (That sounds soo bad LOL). I just wanted to quickly share this card I made for a friend. The card measures 4 1/4x5 1/2. The image is from The Greeting Farm Cheeky Nurse. She is so cute. I added criss cross lines to her stockings to give it a fish net look. I colored her with my Copic markers. I didn't have a sentiment that said "Get Well" that would fit, so I went with "Thinking of You". The banner is from QuicKutz Tattoo Art and was popped up with foam squares as well as the image.

The frames were cut using Spellbinders Labels Four. The edges of the designer papers were inked with black. I loved how she turned out. I currently do not have a mastered coloring technique for blonde hair but practice makes perfect. Okay that's it for now, just a real quickie =) Supplies will be listed below. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Paper: Recollections Elegance, DCWV Immortal Mat Stack, White Cardstock

LSG "Under the Sea" Contest & Easel Card

Inside:
Happy weekend everyone! Lindy's Stamp Gang is hosting a YouTube contest. The rules will be listed at the end of this post. First I wanted to share this easel card that I created to help get you going with the theme "Under the Sea". I fell in love with The Greeting Farm Syren stamp. I thought she would be perfect to grace the front of my card. The image was colored in with my Copic markers (E00, E11, B0000, B14, BG05, V09, V12, V15, C1, 100). I matted a piece of designer paper with brown cardstock for the greeting/message to be written on. The Lindy's Stamp Gang products I used on this card were the Magicals & Micas. These are perfect for coloring images or giving that extra sparkle and shimmer. The Magicals are vibrant in color and have a paint like quality to them. The powders already have a built in fixative so there is no need to add any, use dry or wet with a waterbrush.
On the image I used the mica in Indian Summer Turquoise and the Magicals in Hydrangea Blue on her fin, as well as her eyeshadow on her lids. I then added little dots of the Magicals to her tail. Lots of pearls and rhinestones were added to mimic gems. I put a cluster on her hair as if it was a hair broach and also some on her fin.
All the papers that were used were lightly inked with Distress Ink Antique Linen for that aged look. The scroll was cut from the QuicKutz Parchment Scroll die. The sentiment on the scroll came from a Tim Holtz Boundless Flight stamp set. You can watch a video tutorial on how I achieved that shimmery look using the Magicals and a VersaMark stamp pad here.
All the flowers on the card were white to begin with and then I painted them using the Magicals in Hydrangea Blue and Witch's Potion Purple. The branches w/leaves were colored with the Magicals in Freaky Franken Lime to mimic seaweed at the bottom of the ocean. The original color of that cardstock was a light kraft beige. The die that I used to cut those branches is the Sizzix Sizzlit Branches w/Leaves die. I added some trim to the bottom of the card as well as the inside. I also laid some burlap in the background for "netting".

I hope that those who have a YouTube account will come and participate in our contest. There will be prizes and lots of amazing projects. Even if you do not participate I invite you guys to still come to the Lindy's Stamp Gang channel to view all the wonderful submissions. Thanks for stopping by!
