Glimmer Fun

Today I was playing around with my glimmer mists after being inspired by watching this youtube video by pepsigirl4ever. Here is my take on her project using glimmer mist instead:

The glimmer mist colors that I used were: Tiger Lily, Cinder, Gold, Coffee Shop. The base is corrugated cardboard (a flap cut out of a cardboard box). I did a lot of embossed stamped images, all the flourishes, polka dots and the diamond pattern. White acrylic paint was used in the background and embossed with ultra thick embossing enamel. Besides owls, I love dragonflys as well. The dragonfly is a glimmer chip from Tattered Angels. It was sprayed with Tiger Lily and Coffee Shop, then distressed with Black Soot. The flowers are Prima and sprayed with glimmer mists. On the same youtube video you learn how to make the handmade flower, love it! The photo was distressed with Tea Dye around the edges. Add some rhinestones, pom-poms and call it done. This project was a lot of fun. I wish you could see it in person, I love how the light reflects against it with all the glimmer mists. This last photo was taken with the sun hitting it, hopefully it can capture some of the "wow" factor, lol. Enjoy!

Yesterday I passed by my local scrapbook store Scrapping Lounge with my friend Vivian and I picked up a few things. I got me some new Glimmer Mist colors: Marshmallow, Sunflower, Raven, Cinder and Gold. Raven has a purple undertone, while Cinder has a blueish glimmer. I can't wait to start using them. I also picked up some distress inks and the blending foam pads. I feel very lucky that I have 3 local scrapbook stores near me and that there is a super JoAnns and a Michaels close by. It's so hard to control myself when they are just around the corner!!

On another note, this past Saturday I went to a scrap class instructed by a fellow Design Diva, Sandra Bletzer. It was the cutest scrap mobile/chandelier, I just had to take it. I altered it a bit by adding more beads...I love things to sparkle, lol. The project had tons of butterflies, flowers and little spots for pictures to be placed. Awesome project Sandra! Loved it a lot!

Oh No! What have I done?!

My local scrapbook store Stamp Your Heart Out was having an awesome sale today 9/9/09. If you spent $9 you get 9% off, $18 you get 18% off, and $27 you get 27% off. For those who use Copic Markers you know how expensive these pens can be. Well I told myself that I wasn't gonna get into this whole whoopla but how could I resist this deal? So I gave in and got a couple, and I received 27% off each marker! I even got suckered into buying the cute little acrylic case that holds 12 pens. Knowing me I'll prolly fill that container up real soon, no discipline at all =). I can't wait to start using them and building up my collection! They even gave me a Copic Marker Chart with all the colors listed! OMG, I just want to color in all the boxes, like a BINGO game, lol!!

If any of you have/use these markers please tell me how you like them. Know any good sites that you can get great deals?

Green Card

I call this my "Green" Card, meaning eco-friendly....sort of. What this means to me is that I actually used paper that I already have and didn't buy stuff at a 12hr crop I was at this past Saturday, lol. Pretty lame that this is my interpretation of "going green". Hey I try =)

Supplies: White Gel Pen, Clear Embossing Powder, Tree Stamp, Coluzzle Circle Cutter, Paper Ocober Afternoon - Detours: Walk in the Park, Kraft Paper, 1 1/4 Circle Punch

Sunday Cards

Just playing with paper this Sunday afternoon. I just bought this new stamp set from Michael's, Hampton Art "Who Loves You" set. I haven't been to Michael's for a long time and when I saw all their new (to me) clear stamps I became giddy. I love love owls and this set was too cute to pass on. I think those googly eyes with the lashes are hilarious.

Here's another card I made using this clear stamp set Recollections "Robots", again from Michael's. So if you haven't been to Michael's recently you should go.

Mummy #3

My last and final mummy card. A little 3x3. I'm mummied out, lol.
