1 down...

1 more to go. I finished one clipboard. This one is for Samantha (aka Sam). She's like a mini-me, I gave her my old graphic tees that are too small, so we pretty much have the same taste. Lots of layering with the modge podge medium. In order for me to get around the metal clip, I cut vertical strips of paper, which really made a difference in getting around the nooks and crannies.

The heart and wings are Tim Holtz's Grunge board. I used acrylic paint and then spritz some glimmer mist, iridescent gold.

To personalize it with her initial "S", I used Tim Holtz's Grunge board again. Used the same technique of painting with acrylic paint and then I spritzed on glimmer mist, red velvet. The other letters are American Crafts Thickers alpha stickers. Now on the final clipboard project...stay tuned.

Hurricane Jojo

This is embarrassing but I'm gonna show it anyways. This is what happened to my scrap workstation when "Hurricane Jojo" hit. Actually it still looks that way. This is what you call last minute handmade gifts. I had the bright idea of making altered clipboards for my cousin's kids, and this is my first try at it, I know good one huh? Well they're not finished as you can see, but they will be I promise. Stay tuned for the finished results. And good luck to those who are in the same boat as me!!

Birthday Wishes

This past Sunday was my friend Cat's birthday. We spent the day at the O.C. swapmeet and had lunch at Bamboo House. Here is the card that I made for her. I truly love the look of acetate cards. The flowers I used were from Prima, Fabric Fancies and I forgot what the lacy thingy one is called, lol. I stamped an image of a flourish using white Stazon. Last I added bling and some "stitching", eventually I'll graduate and use real thread.

Gift Card Holders

I am in gift card mode. There is a great tutorial on how to make the foundation of this little project, check out Angie's tutorial video on youtube, or her blog. Once you learn the basics the sky's the limit. I made a variety of different occasions:
Baby

Birthday

Thank You

I made all of these for my Aunt Rosemary. Hopefully I provided her with lots of options to choose from. Thanks Angie for the inspiration!

Busy Weekend

It's crunch time for handmade gifts this holiday season. This past weekend I decorated some gift boxes for my design team gals at the Scrapping Lounge. On the front of the box I had embossed their initials and used gold and copper embossing powders. Here's a great tip, buy Christmas decorations after the holidays at a real great discount and take them apart to use as embellishments on gifts. I had bought this "sugar coated" wreathe for a steal like 3 years ago and i just pick at it litle by little, LOL, talk about thrifty!

Yummy Weather....

for scrapping!! It's pouring outside but it's nice and toasty inside. One thing about being unemployed for the moment, you don't have to go outside when the weather is icky like it is. I get to stay in my pj's and scrap all I want. I need to finish some Christmas cards (thought I was done). (Doorbell rings in the background) Oh mailman, gotta go!

Christmas Stocking

Before:

@ScrappingLounge the Design Divas were assigned to make their own "handmade" Christmas stocking. I got this red velvet stocking at Big Lots for only $2! Wow what a bargain! With some pipe cleaners, Prima flowers, paper from My Mind Eye's Christmas Glitter Stack and some imagination...voila!
