Copic Video: Miss Anya Garland #1

Happy Wednesday! Yes I know you've seen this card before, I blogged about this card already (post here) announcing my January Guest Designer Spot for The Greeting Farm. Well it's been a while since I did a Copic video of me coloring images. So I decided to do one for this particular image (Miss Anya Garland).

Now I am not a Certified Copic Instructor, this being said, I just like to show my way of coloring with these Copic markers. I keep it pretty simple and not too fancy =)

I hope to do more Copic videos of my upcoming TGF projects. So please go to my YouTube Channel Paperdrama and SUBSCRIBE, I might not always have time to do a blog post but you can be kept up to date on my videos there. Hope you enjoyed!

Shabby Tussie Mussie

This was a 2011 Christmas project that I created and just now posting, better late than never. It's an altered cone or tussie mussie. It's actually great for any occasion. This was so much fun to create and embellish. I just love the trims that were used from KARLAS001 Etsy store.

I intertwined some green leaf trim with the ruffled Delicate Cream Trim. Several laces were layered on top of each other. The 4mm Mini White Flat Back Pearl Trim was wrapped around the top of the cone for added detail.

This flower was created using single rosettes taken from a trim. I go in detail about the project and also I do a quick flower tutorial at the tail end of the video.

I hope everyone had a fabulous Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by!

Mini Hanging Canvas Sign

Yay it's Friday! I hope everyone had a great week and are ready for the weekend. Today's I Am Roses project is a mini hanging canvas sign.

The papers that I used are from MME Stella Rose Gertie. The black chipboard in the back was from a Basic Grey black chipboard album. Attached at the top is a mini clothespin that can hold a note or a picture. I was going through my flowers and I decided to create my own using the flat petal flowers.

I made these awesome carnation flowers in two sizes, a medium and a small. The "Carnation Flower Tutorial" can be viewed here. I threw in some .25" Paper Roses and .50" White Paper Roses into the mix as well.

The image I used is from The Greeting Farm, Simply Anya. I colored her with my Copic markers and as well as paper pieced her outfit. I laid her on top of some green burlap trim. For a more detail and up close view of the sign, you can watch my video here. I had a lot of fun making this non-christmas project LOL. I hope you liked it.

A Very Merry KARLAS001 Christmas Tree

Happy Friday everyone! It was rainy and gloomy yesterday and now it's sunny and windy. California weather what are you doing? LOL No matter, I will not let this crazy weather affect my creating mojo. I have a KARLAS001 Etsy project to share. It is this mini Christmas tree that is decorated with KARLAS001 goodies from top to bottom.

I used the 8mm White Pearl Trim Strand as garland. I also draped some Flat Clear/Iridescent Trim from the top hanging to the bottom. As for ornaments, I used the Jo's Shabby Clear Crystals and the Metal Capped Rhinestones. The Metal Capped Rhinestones already had a wire stem attached, so I just trimmed it a bit and bent it to create a hook. I threaded some wire through the Jo's Shabby Crystals and created the hanging hook.

As for the star topper, I went and used two Clear Flowers and adhered them back to back with a glue dot. I then stamped "Season's Greetings on to some vellum and made a cute banner. The only non-KARLAS001 item that I used was a silver glittered star ornament that I had purchased at Michael's. You can view this project on a video that I created here.

Have a great weekend everyone! Good Luck to those braving the shopping malls this weekend!

Mini Christmas Wreath

Yikes, just ten more days 'til Christmas! Breathe, breathe LOL. Instead of working on presents I decided to work on this mini Christmas wreathe. This is my I Am Roses project for you this evening. The mini wreathe measures approximately 6"x 6". I incorporated a pearl and crystal garland, some clear wheat sprays and a cute little owl charm.
On the top left, I flanked a 1" Red Paper Flower with two 1/2" White Paper Roses. All the flowers used were sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Scintillating Silver Glitz Spritz.

The center flower in the bottom right arrangement is a 2" Red Paper Rose. The two 1 1/4" White Paper Roses are on either side, followed by some 1/4" Mini Red Roses and 1/2" Small White Roses. To add more flowers and more red, I included a trio of Semi Red Open Rose Buds on either end of the arrangement. I wanted to add some green color to the wreathe, so I laid all the flowers on top of Green Daisy Paper Leaves. Underneath all the flowers and leaves, I layered the pearl and crystal garland with the clear wheat sprays. For a more personal touch, I added an owl charm (I adore owls) in the mix of the flowers. You can view my video of the wreath here.

So there is my mini wreath, it's already hanging on my bedroom door. Thanks for stopping by! Also just a reminder to check out the December Color Challenge still going on at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog.

Embellishment Tray

Happy Friday everyone! How's the holiday shopping going? Mine? Still going LOL. Here is my I Am Roses project for you today. I turned this plain peat compartment tray, found at my .99 Store, into an embellishment holder. This is a gift that I filled up and created for my sister.

I used some bamboo skewers to hold up the banner with her name spelled out. I flanked both sides of the banner with a 1" White Rose and some S10 Flowers.
Each tray slot was filled with some of my favorite embellishments for her to use. It's a beautiful way to display any goodies and makes for easy access.

I layered some lace trims and wrapped it around the tray. The center flower is a 2" White Rose backed with some Skeleton Leaves, Rose Leaves and some more S10 Flowers. I tied a bow with some white seam binding as well.

On one of the skewers I wrapped a Short White Flower Spray with some lace and seam binding. This is not permanently adhered to the stick so that it too can be used as an embellishment. I love how this turned out and with such little cost. You can view a closer look of my project on my video here. Thanks for stopping by.

One last thing, don't forget to head on over to the I Am Roses Challenge Blog, we are having a Color Challenge going on for the month of December. Have a beautiful weekend!

Shabby Holiday Stockings

Is everyone ready for the weekend? I wanted to share this project that is easy to create using some Pink Rose trim and Pearl trims from KARLAS001's Etsy. The backing of these stockings are just basic thick cardstock cut into a stocking shape. I cut off the individual roses on the trim to fill out the shape. Instead of using ribbon as the stocking hanger, I opted to use the pearl trims.

These Mini Crystal Clear Butterflykisses Butterflies added a cute touch. Using other trims to decorate the top and some pearl embellishments for the buttons they completed the look.

This is a holiday project that is easy to create as little handmade gifts. You can also use other colored trims that you already have in your stash.

I used the White Flat Back Pearl Trim for these two stockings.

For this one, I used the Pink Flat Back Pearl Trim to coordinate with this light pink rose trim.
On this stocking, it was initially a cream rose trim but I had dyed it with my Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Cadbury Milk Chocolate. The trim I chose to go with this brown color was the Bronze Pearl Strand Trim.

I truly love how these stockings turned out and I hope my scrappy friends like them. To watch a tutorial on how you can make a similar project like these, you can view my video here. As always thanks for taking the time to stop by. Have a great weekend!

Merriest Wishes

Hi everyone Happy Thursday evening or Friday! I created this I Am Roses holiday gift box to share with you guys. It was really simple to make using designer paper. You can watch the tutorial here. All the edges were inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The sentiment "Merriest Wishes" is from a Hero Arts stamp set. I framed it with the Classic Ovals Small and Labels Four dies from Spellbinders. I then used dimensional pop dots to raise it up and it allows the seam binding to run through the back. Some 1/4" Red & Brown Mini Paper Roses and 1/2" White Paper Roses accent the corners.

I am in love with this new flower to the I Am Roses Site, Big Red Gardenia. I used it as the centerpiece in the floral arrangement on the lid. One word, gorgeous! I first placed some brown seam binding and then laid some Skeleton Leaves as the base. I randomly placed White Cherry Blossoms, 1" White Paper Roses, Brown Paper Roses and some Mini Red Paper Roses all around the base of the red gardenia.

The box is filled with yummy goodies for my friend for a holiday crop party. I can't wait for her to see it =).

I hope you've enjoyed my gift box and tutorial video. Have a fabulous Friday and weekend!

Dress Form Fairy

I finally finished my dress form project, here it is! I love fairies and dress forms, so why not combine both and I did. This was a paper mache dress form that I had purchased from my local scrapbook store. All the beautiful floral embellishments I used are from I Am Roses. To start off, I painted the entire dress form with a pink acrylic paint. After that I coated it with a crackle medium. I let that dry then I used white acrylic paint as the top coat. I love the end results.

I covered the the middle part of the dress form with Gardenia Curly Petals to mimic the skirt. I added some mini rhinestones and pearls randomly on the petals. I placed some lace trim and Natural Skeleton Leaves on the bust. To add more interest to the neckline, I added some mini pearl flat back pearl trim and a rhinestone button.

On the base of the dress form, I wrapped a White Paper Flowers Spray and randomly placed some Pink Paper Roses, Pink 2 Tone Semi Open Rose Buds, White Paper Roses and more Skeleton Leaves.

My favorite part is the wings. I used more of the skeleton leaves to form the wings, three on each side. They look very delicate and whimsical. I tied some lace trim into a bow and used this beautiful large crystal flower from KARLAS001 Etsy.

To add a little more detail, I place some mini flat back pearl trim down the lace to mimic buttons. So there is my Fairy Dress Form for you guys this Friday. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I did making it. For a more detailed look, you can view my video here. Have a great weekend everyone!

Birthday Card Share

Happy Wednesday! I wanted to share this birthday card I created this afternoon. I love The Greeting Farm stamps and I wanted to try something different. Instead of using Copic paper to stamp the image on, I went with kraft cardstock. I really love the vintage feel it gave my image. I then colored the image with my Copic markers (colors listed below). The colors look much softer.
I distressed all the paper edges with Walnut Stain. The image is popped up on dimensional foam pop dots. On the bottom I added pattern paper punched with a scallop border punch. I then layered some trim and buttons from my stash. I used a cupcake border punch on some more of the MME pattern paper.

Here is a video I made showing how I colored the image onto kraft paper. I also show a similar card with a different trim.

Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stoppng by!

Lindy's It's Fall Y'all Contest!

Like the image says, "It's Fall Y'All". Lindy's Stamp Gang is having a contest on their Facebook page. There are amazing prizes. If you love Lindy's Stamp Gang and you use it on almost all your crafting projects then this contest is easy peasy for you. The contest is going on now and ends October 24, 2011.

Here is my spooky project to hopefully inspire you to create. It's an altered wooden hanging spider. This is one side of the spider. On the outer body, I sprayed it with Starburst VavavaVoom Violet. After that I covered it with glue from a glue stamp pad. I then sprinkled some ultra fine black glitter. I lined the body with white rhinestones and colored them black with my Copic marker. The middle body was embossed with several layers of the Jack o'Lantern two tone embossing powder from the Jolly Jacks Set.

The inner body was sprayed with Starburst Freaky Franken-Lime. This was a very rich and bright lime green color. I then added tiny white rhinestones and colored it again with my black Copic marker....I guess I should buy some black rhinestones =) To finish off this side of the spider, I took some white seam binding and sprayed it with the Starburst Witch's Potion Purple.

On to the other side. I kept the outer body the same as the reverse side. The middle body frame is sprayed with the Starburst Witch's Potion Purple and colored over with the Magicals Witch's Potion Purple for a more deep color and shimmer. The inner body was also kept the same as the reverse side as well.
The last thing I did was add the white seam binding on this side and colored it with the Starburst Hag's Wart Orange.

I love how my spooky spider turned out. For a more detailed look of my project, please watch the video I made here. Thanks for stopping by! Now it's your turn, what will you be making for this contest?

Make a Wish

It's Monday and I have a birthday card to share. I am using the image Birthday Anya II from The Greeting Farm. She is so cute, I just love her cupcake. She is colored with my Copic markers. I added a "Make a Wish" sentiment also from The Greeting Farm. The papers I decided to use for that girly shabby look are from MME Blush. One of my favorite paper pads and I used up all the papers, guess it's time to restock! LOL.
Okay let's get down to the gorgeous I Am Roses flowers. I decided to make my own floral spray along the side of the card. The large pink flower is from a Random Sizes Pink Tone pack and I used it as the base of the spray. I have two Pale Green Leaves in the back. I used lots of pink tones for the flowers. I staggered two Mini Pink Semi Open Rose Buds and added some White .25" Mini Paper Roses. The last flower I used is the Curly Shaped Pink Rose.
Ta Da! So there is my card for you today. I hope you liked it. All the I Am Roses products/links will be listed below, as well as the other supplies used. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your day.
