I Am Roses "End of the Year" Blog Hop

Good morning! WELCOME to the I Am Roses “End of the Year” Blog Hop. I'm up first for you today and here is my card:

I've used three types of flowers and leaves. We still have a few days left to get our holiday craft on so I created this project. The base of the card is simple and the main focus are the gorgeous flowers. Of course you can see the addition of sequins...obsessed!

I kept my post short and all the I Am Roses flowers will be posted below. I've yet to see all the DT's creations, so I will be hopping along with the rest of you!

Up next is:

In case you get lost along the way, here is a list of the I Am Roses Design Team hopping today:

**If the Designer's "End of the Year" blog post is not up, come back and check later. You will have a whole week to comment**

THANK YOU and Good Luck!

Season's Greetings

Happy Saturday! I'm sharing my Season's Greetings card using the By DIEzyne Dies Side Step Card die. I can't get enough of this die. I know that this die will be a forever favorite. Accompanying this die is MFT Die-namics Dainty Doily.

I'm still in holiday greeting cards mode. The sentiment "Season's Greetings" is from Mama Elephant Season's Greeting embossed in gold embossing powder. I paired up gold glittered cs with the Simple Stories DIY Christmas designer paper.

To complete the card, I added some gold sequins from Mixed Sequins by Sulyn and flowers from my stash.

Please come join in on the fun over at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog!

Candy Treat Bag

Good Morning October! Hi everyone, here is a project I created for the I Am Roses Challenge Blog, a Candy Treat Bag.  It's Halloween themed and the flowers I used were the Semi Open Rose Buds, Cherry Blossoms and Roses.

I handmade the bag from Kraft CS and stamped my own background. I pulled out all my Halloween themed papers and stamps perfect for this project. For the scene in the back of the treat bag, I placed a haunted house using a die and strategically placed the Witch's legs sticking out of the bottom of the house, like The Wizard of Oz. To create the legs, I cut a striped paper straw for the stockings and I stamped a shoe 2x for the feet.

The IAR Colors to use are Orange & Black and the challenge is Bags (create or decorate a bag).
Come join in on the fun and get inpsired by the DT's creations.

I made a mini tutorial on how to make the bag HERE.

Shabby Steampunk Top Hat

Hello everyone! It's a September IAR Designer Challenge over at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog today. The theme is Steampunk and the challenge is to include a Butterfly in your project. Soo.....here is my Shabby Steampunk Top Hat!

Most steampunk projects lean toward darker colors but I decided to go a shabby route. I created a top hat from scratch (i'll try and see if I can record a tutorial with the measurements). I used a plain cardstock base and layered papers from Prima. The mini gears are from Tim Holtz, so cute! The butterfly element was white and I sprayed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang Flat Fabio in T-bird Turquoise.

All the flowers are from I Am Roses (White Spray, Pink Curly Roses, S10 Flowers, 1" Roses, Fern Leaves and Skeleton Leaves).

There is a wire coil in the white spray, I stretched it out and created a heart shape. Lastly, I trimmed a clock wood veneer in half and inserted it behind the flowers.

Hope you enjoyed this project. Come join in on the fun and enter to win some fabulous flowers over at the IAR Challenge Blog!

GOOD LUCK!!

I {Heart} Mermaids

Good Morning everyone! It's Saturday...again and it's my turn on the 7 Kids Store Blog. Here's my card using Magnolia's Pisces Tilda. I love mermaids, and I just had to add her to my collection. She looks so cute just chillin' on her lilypad.

I colored her with my Copics but didn't have the right pink in my collection. So as an alternative, I used the pinks from the BIC Mark-It Permanent Markers 24 Assorted Mix. They blended beautifully. For the water, I used some green and blue shimmer chalks. Using Liquid Pearls in White Opal, I gave her a pearl headband. With a few taps on the back of the card while the pearls are wet, it flattens the peaks of the liquid.

The flower is from Petaloo Burlap Blossoms - Pistachio. It went well with the beachy theme. I pulled the silver sequins from the Sulyn Assorted Sequins Mix. I think the bling went well with the pearls and shells. I also added a string of pearls from an old necklace along with cheese cloth in the background.

This is my crafty share for you today, please take some time to join us at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog.

Vintage Shabby Notebook

Hello! I'm sharing my project that I created for the I Am Roses Designer Challenge for July. I've had this notebook hybernating in my stash and I decided to pull it out and give it a facelift.

I went for a Vintage Shabby look. There are a plethera of flowers: Lilies, Gardenias, Roses, Mini Roses, Floral Sprays and Leaves.

The paper I used is from Prima the Divine Collection. I layered a sheet of vellum that I embossed the edges with white embossing powder and used a decorative scissor to cut along the border. Also from Prima, is a wooden veneer embellishment with a checkboard pattern. Lastly, I added a tiny cute floral trim, some pearls and a doily.

I think you can see a major difference from the before and after. All the flowers I used are listed below with links.

GOOD LUCK!

June IAR Challenge - Altered Magnetic Board Frame

Hello everyone! It's June! Summertime here we come! For this month's I Am Roses Challenge, you are to Alter a FRAME or include one in your project. I wanted to put up this picture of my scrappy friends that took place at my apartment when I first moved in. I had this magnetic board frame in my stash a while now, given to me by my friend Amy. It was time to take it out for this challenge, here is a picture of the original, it also came with magnets.

Before

I first covered the metal sheet with a layer of dictionary paper and some Tim Holtz Tissue paper over that with mod podge. I painted the wood with white acrylic paint then I started the flower layering process. Honestly, this is the most flowers I've used on a project, but it was so worth it!

Here is a close up of the 3 flowers I used and how I layered them together.

R5-15 White Roses
T1-118 Hot Pink Mini Rose Buds
R2-518 Mini Variegated Soft Pink Rose Flowers

Here is a corner of the frame in which I included this cute bicycle die cut from My Creative Time. Above the bike, you can see that I glued larger roses on top of the magnets that this came with. I also had the perfect size flat back pearls for the other magnets. The picture is not permanently adhered to the board, I can change out the picture whenever I want just by removing the magnets on the frame die cut.

R6-595 1" Mixed Pastel
R3-595 3/4" Mixed Pastel

I loved how this turned out. Please don't mind the heart above my friend's face, it's for privacy reasons =). Thank you for taking the time to view my project. You can watch my video here for a closer look. Come join this fun challenge over at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog.

GOOD LUCK!
