December IARCC "All Wrapped Up"

Hello! Happy Monday and December! November just flew on by. It's time for another I Am Roses Color Challege. You can find all the details over at the IAR Challenge Blog. This month's theme is Christmas Gift Wrap. As you can see I made gift bags using brown paper lunch bags. I have tons of these in my craft room, back when I used to make paper albums. These are really cheap and affordable at any grocery store.

I simply embossed the bags with my embossing folders from Cuttlebug. The monogram tag is made from burlap trip. I had several colors and decide to use the red & green ones that were cut into little fish tail banners. The I Am Roses flowers that I used are listed below. I wanted to make them look like holly, so I grouped the three red roses together and laid them on top of some green daisy leaves. I also added some white mini rose buds.

These tags were really easy to make and I made several for gifts. I also put them on this small embossed glassine bag for smaller presents. All the tags were attached to the bags with jute rope and I threaded a jingle bells ball with it. It makes a really festive noise when you move the gift =)

I made a start to finish video on how I made the tags and also how I embossed the lunch bags. You can view the video here.

As always thank you for taking the time to look at my creations. I hope you are able to use my idea this holiday season. GOOD LUCK to those who want to enter the December IARCC.

"Naughty or Nice" Christmas Gift Box

I was in a crafty mood and I decided to make this Christmas gift box. It is an A2 Standard size card box. I wanted to color an image from The Greeting Farm's "Naughty or Nice" Stamp Set. I chose the angel image.

I used several Spellbinder dies for this project. The green ornament is actually the card. It opens up to show the greeting. I made a 'start to finish' video of this project, you can view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkVF-qyL00A

I had so much fun coloring her with my Copic markers and making her all sparkly with my Stickles. Here is a Copic video that I made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XtDxDq8AJE

There's a new IAR Sketch Challenge over at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog. If you want to play along and enter to win some IAR flowers get on over to the blog for all the rules/details. Check out the new sketch above.

Here is my take of the sketch. The picture I used is of myself (left) and my friend Rina (right). This was taken at a crop that I hosted at my place. We had so much fun with our scrappy friends. I hope you guys can join us in this month's challenge. Make sure to read all the requirements on how to enter.

I also wanted to thank everyone for all the sweet and beautiful comments left on my IAR Blog Hop project. Also a huge HELLO! to all my new followers of this blog. Happy Tuesday! Welcome to the I Am Roses "A Haunting We Will Go" Blog Hop. You should be coming from Elsa's Blog, if not head on over to the IAR Challenge Blog to start from the beginning and to get all the rules/details for your chance to win some IAR goodness.

Here's the amazing prize package to one lucky winner:

Okay stop drooling, let's get to my project. I created this mini Halloween wreath. The wreath measures approx. 8.5" x 8.5" and it was originally brown so I decided to paint it black. The paper collection I used is an older collection from Graphic 45 - Halloween in Wonderland. I fussy cut several of the images and layered them on dimensional foam adhesive. The banner is attached with black glitter brads.

I hope you enjoyed my little Halloween decor and maybe you'll give it a try. I plan on hanging this wreath up on my front door since I live in an apartment complex. Just a cute little Halloween touch.

August IAR Color Challenge "Back to School"

There's a new IAR Color Challenge just posted over at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog. If you want to win some beautiful flowers check it out and create to win.

The theme for this month's challenge is "Back to School". I decided to dress up a paper lunch bag. Fill it up with snacks or some school supplies for your kid. That big gardenia is new to I Am Roses, it measures at 4". I used some two tone yellow roses and added some red roses as well.

The calendar month "august" is embossed on acetate with white embossing powder. I draped some banner border stickers at the fold. The letter "A" is the initial for the receiver of this paper bag. The yellow ruler ribbon was perfect for the school theme.

Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to see all the submissions created by you guys. GOOD LUCK everyone!!

IAR Sketch #1 - Sunshine

There is a NEW challenge over at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog. If you like sketches head on over there for more details on how to enter to win some I Am Roses products.

Here is my take on the sketch. I decided to flip it clockwise and interpret it into a card.

I love working with kraft cardstock. The card measures 5.5" x 5.5". The doily stamp is embossed with white embossing powder. I used my scraps of ephemera and corrugated cardboard. The little pink splatters in the background is from Lindy's Stamp Gang - Hottie Patottie Hot Pink Starburst Spray. The leaves were die cut from vellum and the word "Sunshine" is a rub-on. The pink rose (R77) is sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang - Saltwater Taffy Starburst Spray. I added some rosebuds and a gardenia flower as well.

So there is my card and I hope you liked it. All products used is listed below. Make sure to check out the other projects from the IAR Design Team over at the IAR Challenge Blog. Good Luck!

KARLAS001 Etsy DT Swap

The Design Team of KARLAS001 Etsy decided to do an internal swap and these are the three projects that I created for Bona (Keep On Scrappin). The only restrictions were to create three handmade projects and to use items from Karla's Etsy store.

Project #1 was a Burlap Gift Bag. I basically decorated the bag. I layered some lace and floral pearl trim on the front and back. A heart shape was cut out of the brown rosette trim. I cut a banner from vellum and stamped "friends" with white embossing powder. The floral spray is from I Am Roses. And the last embellishments I added was a button that I ran some twine through and a small crystal flower.

KARLAS001 Etsy Items:

4in Rosette Trim
Vintage White Lace 31/B30
White Medium Flower Trim
Mini Clear crystal Flowers/B13
5x7 Burlap Bag

Project #2 was a Keepsake Jar (an altered fruit preserves jar). Many items were used on this jar. Lots of layering of lace trims on the lid. Several embellishments were used. The best way to know how this jar was created is to watch the video (link below).

4MM Mini Flat Back Pearl Trim
3D Clear Butterflykisses Crystal Flowers
2 1/2 in. Pink Paper Flowers
Cynthialoowho's Silver Mesh Bling
Thin Lace/Satin Beige Trim
White Paper Mulberry Flowers

Project #3, my favorite, was a Camera Box. This was totally a scraplifted project. My inspiration was from Maria (lollyrot-scrapbooking). I fell in love with the camera that she made and I just had to make one. So here it is. I wanted to give it a shabby chic look. The paper I used is DCWV Fabric Adhesive Paper. I gathered up all my pearl embellishments/buttons and went to town. Maria had initially created a flap for the back closure. I decided to make a box instead and created a mini diorama inside. I go in detail of the creation of this camera box in the project video (link below).

IAR "I Do" YouTube Contest

Happy Monday! I wanted to share my project that I made for the I Am Roses YouTube "I Do" Contest going on now. You can check out the official rules over at the IAR Blog.

My cousin is getting married this month  and I created this cute banner titled "The Bride". She can hang this banner outside of her dressing room the day of the wedding. In hindsight I should've made one for the groom as well but hey it's her day, let her be special. =)

This month's challenge is a monochromatic color scheme. It was so much fun to not use color. I was able to use lace trims from my stash and I layered them at the tops of each pennant. Each pennant was cut from a 4x6 white mat board. I covered it with dictionary paper.

The letters are Tim Holtz's alpha embossed grunge board that I painted white. To string up the banner I hot glued all the pennants to some jute rope layered on lace. I tied little lace bows in between each piece.

I incorporated the foam headed sprays and the small scrapbooking flowers (S10) on each banner piece. I made sure to at least have a pretty flower also. Another embellishment that I added were flat back pearls for an added touch.

So there is my bridal banner. I hope you like it. Make sure to head on over to the IAR Challenge Blog and play along to win some yummy I Am Roses flowers.

Thanks for stopping by! and Good Luck!

How do you store your I Am Roses?

Hi everyone, hope your week is off to a great start. We have an I Am Roses DT exclusive on how our designers store their IAR flowers. Head on to the I Am Roses Challenge Blog to see how we organize and store our flowers.

As for me, being on the Design Team has generously increased my IAR stash. I had to find a way to store my flowers and make them easily accessible. So here is my solution:

These are two 3-drawer Sterilite containers stacked on top of each other. The bottom drawers have wheels so they are easy to move around the room. It's very light weight. I've organized my flowers by colors and I still have room to grow =)

These drawers make it easy for me to see what's inside and there's plenty of room so that they don't get squashed. I love love love my IAR flowers and thank you Bunma (owner) for making me addicted!

I hope you guys enjoyed taking a peek in how I store & organize my flowers. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget there are still a few days to enter the May IAR Color Challenge contest going on at the IAR Challenge Blog.
Take Care!
