You Make My Heart Flutter - Simple Stamping

Hello Thursday! I wanted to share my post as the January Guest Designer over at The Greeting Farm Blog. Today's cards are created using the Flutter Heart Clear Stamp Set. Each image in this set is so versatile and can really stand on their own without all the bells & whistles of embellishments. It's crazy to think that all those flowers, ribbon or bling we like to collect are not needed............WRONG! Hahaha. BUT it can be done.

My first card uses the sentiment "BOY meets GIRL...", adorable! To finish the phrase I just added some mini heart stickers at the tail end. Stamped inside of the card is this cute couple in the set. It may be difficult to see but I did add a tiny heart sticker on the girl's dress.
In this second card, I used the "Love" banner and the lined hearts. I couldn't resist adding glitter, so I punched a scallop border across the bottom and laid red glitter paper underneath. The heart is also colored in with some Stickles in Xmas Red.
Did I mention that the couple image is cute? Well I had to use it again in this 3x3 card. I fussy cut the "Joy" scallop banner, popped it up (not too much so you can still mail it) and used it as a base for the couple. For more sparkle, I added more of that red glitter paper.

Okay one last card I promise. I couldn't resist using the Miss Anya Garland stamp, so I gave her some puffy hearts as wings and added her just below the lined heart background that I created. Right at the bottom corner I stamped the "You Make My Heart Flutter" sentiment.
I had a blast making these cards using the current new releases. Thank you so much for welcoming me with open arms this month.

Have a great day!
Jo

IAR "Love Is In the Air" YouTube Contest

Yay I'm so excited to announce our first I Am Roses YouTube Contest of the year! Check out all the details at the I Am Roses Challenge Blog or go directly to the IAR YouTube Channel for the Contest Video.

Here is the project that I created for this contest. They are some Valentine treat cups. I got some peat moss cups from my .99 Cent Store and altered them. I sprayed the containers with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starbursts in Dark Chocolate Truffle and Poinciana Red Flame.

I had some cellophane bags and filled them up with some chocolates. The paper collection I used is from Recollections Union Square. I used some some punches and nesting dies to create the embellishment. A cluster of I Am Roses flowers add the final detail.

I hope you guys participate in this YouTube Contest for a chance to win some beautiful I Am Roses flowers.

Good Luck!

Copic Video: Miss Anya Garland #1

Happy Wednesday! Yes I know you've seen this card before, I blogged about this card already (post here) announcing my January Guest Designer Spot for The Greeting Farm. Well it's been a while since I did a Copic video of me coloring images. So I decided to do one for this particular image (Miss Anya Garland).

Now I am not a Certified Copic Instructor, this being said, I just like to show my way of coloring with these Copic markers. I keep it pretty simple and not too fancy =)

I hope to do more Copic videos of my upcoming TGF projects. So please go to my YouTube Channel Paperdrama and SUBSCRIBE, I might not always have time to do a blog post but you can be kept up to date on my videos there. Hope you enjoyed!

Shabby Tussie Mussie

This was a 2011 Christmas project that I created and just now posting, better late than never. It's an altered cone or tussie mussie. It's actually great for any occasion. This was so much fun to create and embellish. I just love the trims that were used from KARLAS001 Etsy store.

I intertwined some green leaf trim with the ruffled Delicate Cream Trim. Several laces were layered on top of each other. The 4mm Mini White Flat Back Pearl Trim was wrapped around the top of the cone for added detail.

This flower was created using single rosettes taken from a trim. I go in detail about the project and also I do a quick flower tutorial at the tail end of the video.

I hope everyone had a fabulous Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by!

Owl Love

Happy Monday! Here is a card I created for I Am Roses. This owl stamp was given to me by my friend Nancy (GoinCriCrazy on YouTube). She knows that I love owls and this stamp was too cute to not make something immediately.

I quickly colored the images with my Copic markers. I used some Spellbinder nesting dies on some vellum and designer paper. The paper I used is from Recollections Union Square. Love this paper stack, don't be surprised if you see this paper used on my upcoming projects =)

The owls are framed with some of my new favorite 3/4" size roses. Another favorite of mine are the 1/4" mini roses in white, great card filler. To finish off my flower arrangement, I used a light brown rose.

For a romantic look, I laid some vintage lace and a brown satin ribbon in the background. So there you have my card share for today. At the bottom right, I also added three brown brads. I am in a Valentine's Day card mood, keep an eye out for more projects to come. Be sure to check out my video here for a more closer look of my card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

Winter Wonderland Tag Swap

TGIF! Hi everyone, here is a tag that I made for a "Winter Wonderland" themed swap over on YouTube. I used some KARLAS001 Etsy goodies. I incorporated some of the pearl sprays in her store. I was going for a shabby vintage look. The color palette was kept very neutral. The only pop of color in the tag is the colored snowman and the light blue spray in the background. The pearl sprays looked so delicate, like tiny little snowballs.

I embossed the snowman with white embossing powder and colored it in with my LSG Magicals in Azure Sea Asters. For added shimmer, I sprayed the whole tag with Scintillating Silver. I was able to use mostly what was in my stash on this tag and I didn't have to buy a darn thing LOL.

Now that I'm finished with this swap I can finally put all my Christmas stamps, papers, embellishments away! Time to move on to Valentine's Day themed projects...stay tune! Have a great weekend everybody =)

Mini Hanging Canvas Sign

Yay it's Friday! I hope everyone had a great week and are ready for the weekend. Today's I Am Roses project is a mini hanging canvas sign.

The papers that I used are from MME Stella Rose Gertie. The black chipboard in the back was from a Basic Grey black chipboard album. Attached at the top is a mini clothespin that can hold a note or a picture. I was going through my flowers and I decided to create my own using the flat petal flowers.

I made these awesome carnation flowers in two sizes, a medium and a small. The "Carnation Flower Tutorial" can be viewed here. I threw in some .25" Paper Roses and .50" White Paper Roses into the mix as well.

The image I used is from The Greeting Farm, Simply Anya. I colored her with my Copic markers and as well as paper pieced her outfit. I laid her on top of some green burlap trim. For a more detail and up close view of the sign, you can watch my video here. I had a lot of fun making this non-christmas project LOL. I hope you liked it.

As always, please make sure to visit I Am Roses on YouTube and check out our IAR Challenge Blog, where we have challenges, contests, and lots of projects from our Designers. Thanks for stopping by!

Exciting News!

Oh my gosh! I am so excited to announce that I have been asked to be the January Guest Designer for The Greeting Farm!! I know right?! If you aren't familiar with their stamps, go check them out, you will not be disappointed. I have a big ol' grin just writing up this blog post. Above is a card that I created using the New Miss Anya Garland Set and the Flutter Heart Clear Stamp Set. These girls are soo adorable.

I'm still in shock. So does that make me "Farmer Jo"? Hehehe. (Rina, can you believe it?)
I am addicted to decorating glassine bags. Here I used one of the Miss Anya images that came in the set. Adorable! Her dress and her stockings were all paper pieced. Great tip if your Copic marker arsenal is low, just paper piece the image and no worries. The rest of the image is colored with my Copics. The beautiful beige crochet flower was given to me by my scrap gal Bona, her mom crocheted it. For embellishments I added some flowers and lace trims.

So that is my exciting news I wanted to share with everyone. Thanks to all my supporters! (Okay I feel like I won a Miss America pageant or something LOL). Stay tuned for more projects! And visit The Greeting Farm Blog for more fabulous projects. Also make sure to go to the TGF Facebook Page for more inspiration, updates and news. Okay bye for now!
